Treating Your Tonsillitis
I’ve been away for a few days, battling an extreme case of tonsillitis. I must have had it for a while, but didn’t notice the symptoms: trouble swallowing, headaches, throat pain. It wasn’t until days later that I noticed the white, patchy spots at the back of my throat. So, I began my natural treatment to do away with the tonsillitis: I gargled with warm salt water, drank plenty of tea (heavy on the lemons), and spoon-fed myself honey to no end. Unfortunately for me, my condition was too far gone and I was forced to see a doctor for antibiotics. Had I started my natural treatment sooner, I might have fared better against the bacteria that caused it. The moral of the story: don’t wait ‘til it’s too late, treat those tonsils today!

Natural Cures for Smoking
Smoking has long been talked about as unhealthy. Most people know that smoking can lead to lung disease and emphysema. But there are so many other health problems that smoking can cause. They include snoring, ulcers, varicose veins, and even impotence. I often hear how difficult it is for people to stop smoking. There are several prescription drugs available to ease the want for nicotine. But there are just as many natural, homeopathic cures to help smokers quit, as well. These natural remedies aid in stress relief, providing calmness when the urge for a cigarette occurs. Here’s some useful information on smoking and some alternatives to help stop for good.

Losing Weight - Blood Pressure
Have you checked your blood pressure lately? Amazingly, many people have high blood pressure and are unaware of it. Sometimes, there just aren’t any signs. One sign, however, is being overweight. Just being 10-20 pounds overweight can impact your blood pressure. I found out the hard way. I was 20-30 pounds overweight, and began having symptoms: headaches, fatigue, and dizziness. So I changed my diet and began exercising. I’ve lost about 21 pounds and my symptoms have subsided. I’m still on a mission to lose more, because if I can keep my weight under control, I know I can better control my blood pressure. Although weight is a common factor with blood pressure, there are many others. There are also things you can do naturally to help lower your blood pressure. Here are some facts about blood pressure and how you can control it.

Stress free... naturally!
Have you ever had one of those days when it seemed everything that could possibly go wrong actually did? Take my day for instance: I woke up late. It was pouring rain outside. I had to get my son to school for 7am and I had to be at work for 8am. I almost made it on time, but when I got there, I arrived to negativity from a co-worker. After that, I lent a sympathetic ear to another co-worker who was going through things. Wait... Am I not going through stressful events, too? I'm sure you can relate to how stress negatively affects the body, so here's some healthy de-stressing information. Enjoy!

Migraine Headaches
Do you suffer from migraines? I have since I was a child. I remember my mom telling me that I would frown up when I was about two years old. I would ball myself in a knot and just lie there. The doctor later told her that I was having a bad headache when I did that and to just let me lay there. Throughout my childhood and into my adult years, I still have bouts with migraine headaches. They often occur out of nowhere, but lately, I’ve noticed some warning signs. Sometimes if I don’t get enough sleep I get one. I’ve even noticed the smell of raw onions tend to trigger them, too. I found some helpful tips on migraines and how they occur, as well as natural options that can help treat them.

Alcohol Induced Liver Disease
Do you or someone you know drink too much alcohol? If so, you should let them know of the dangers of binge or incessant drinking. Some people think of alcohol as just heavy liquor, not necessarily beer or flavored beer beverages. But, it all adds up the same if it is not done in moderation. So how much alcohol is too much alcohol, and how does this lead to liver disease? Well, the liver is a very important organ in our bodies, as it helps to not only break down our foods, but filter alcohol and other impurities from our bodies. If it has too much to process at once, this leads to malfunction of the liver immediately or later in life. For you and those you care about most, please share this blog on how to best protect the liver against alcohol induced liver disease.

Causes and Treatments for Bone Spurs
More and more, I hear about the issue of bone spurs affecting many people. One person, who is very close to me, my mom, suffers from this condition. Sometimes, she awakens in the middle of the night in such severe pain from them. And some days, she can’t even walk at all. Unfortunately, my mom can’t have surgery to correct her spurs, but there are some natural things she does to ease the pain. One thing my mom does often is soak her feet in warm, salt water. She says it really seems to lessen the soreness. She’s also taking calcium and zinc supplements to help strengthen her bones. My mom knows that the cause of her spurs is not only hereditary, but due to wearing ill-fitting shoes.

Asthma & Allergies
The season is upon us! And boy did it get here fast. With fall and winter approaching, it's hard not to have cold, allergy, and even flu symptoms. What's worse is not knowing what to do to combat these things naturally. One thing you can do that's fairly simple is to drink more warm beverages, like tea and cocoa. Adding some lemon to your tea will help fight colds and allergies. More vitamin C (oranges and orange juice) and practicing breathing techniques can help too. Take a moment to de-stress and relax. Remember to exercise and watch the foods you eat, as all these things can play a role in your immune system getting weak. Keep warm and stay well during the holiday season!
